POLYTEC PT GMBH WILL BECOME PART OF BOSTIK

Bostik takes over Polytec PT GmbH to strengthen its product offer to serve the fast-growing battery and electronics markets. Bostik is a multi-national manufacturer of specialty adhesives and part of the publicly listed specialty materials manufacturer Arkema, headquartered in Colombes, near Paris, France.

The integration of Polytec PT in the Arkema group will help them to become a full system provider, to build a global footprint for the technology and to be able to support customers in regions not served today.

Polytec PT GmbH develops, manufactures, and distributes specialty adhesives and thermal interface materials for applications in the electronics, electrical and automotive sectors. The product portfolio includes electrically and/or thermally conductive adhesives and potting compounds, UV-curable adhesives, products for high-temperature applications, and removable, thermally conductive gap fillers.

As a leading innovator for thermal management materials which are key to enable fast charging and efficient heat dissipation of batteries in EV vehicles Polytec PT has already built a solid position in this market. Polytec PT is part of the Polytec Group and delivers around €15m sales with two main production sites in Karlsbad and Maxdorf, Germany.

This acquisition is a unique opportunity for Bostik’s and Polytec PT's teams, who already collaborate on new solutions. It will allow them to accelerate these developments and become a significant player in the thermal interface materials and electronics markets.

“We are looking forward to becoming part of the Arkema Group”, states Achim Wiessler, Managing Director, Polytec PT GmbH. “Bostik is the ideal partner for us. We can bring in our strong expertise in thermally conductive products to support Bostik's and Arkema's strategy to offer a complete portfolio of innovative materials for inside and outside battery cells. Bostik's global presence and strong development expertise will further accelerate our growth in the battery market, especially outside Europe”, says Wiessler.
